Toptank Tanking Slurry - 25kg - Biokil Crown
BBA‑Approved Two‑Part Cementitious Waterproofing for Internal Walls & Floors
Biokil Crown Toptank Tanking Slurry is a BBA-approved, two-component cementitious membrane system for internal masonry and concrete waterproofing. Ideal for tanking basements, cellars, lift pits, retaining walls and internal foundations, this system can be brush-, trowel- or spray-applied and delivers high-performance resistance to both positive and negative water pressure. It forms a dense waterproof barrier while remaining vapour permeable—ensuring long-term protection and building compliance.
Key Features & Benefits
- BBA-Certified Performance: Trusted for waterproofing quality and compliance in UK standards.
- Dual Water Pressure Resistance: Suitable for positive (hydrostatic from outside) and negative (internal) pressure.
- Two-Part System: Includes powder and liquid component for consistent, bonded application.
- Excellent Adhesion: Bonds directly to masonry, concrete, blockwork—no primer needed.
- Water Vapour Permeable: Allows moisture escape to prevent damp build-up behind coating.
Product Details
- Pack Size: 25 kg tub (powder mixed with liquid on-site)
- Coverage: Approximately 8 m² per 25 kg pack (depending on surface porosity and coat thickness)
- Colour: Grey
- Application Methods: Brush, trowel, or spray
- Certification: BBA-approved under certificate 17/5444
Application Instructions
- Ensure substrate is clean, stable, and free from oils, dust, laitance; pre-wet before application.
- Mix powder into the liquid gradually while stirring until a smooth, lump-free slurry is achieved.
- Apply first coat evenly using a stiff brush or trowel.
- Wait 6–8 hours (subject to ambient conditions), then apply a perpendicular second coat.
- Protect from frost and rapid drying; allow 24–48 hours curing before backfilling or overcoating.
Limitations
- Do not apply below 5 °C or to frozen/saturated surfaces.
- Not intended for final floor finish—must be overcoated or covered.
- Not suitable for active standing water without drainage provision.
Health & Safety
- Wear suitable gloves, dust mask, eye protection during mixing and application.
- Avoid skin or eye contact; rinse thoroughly if contact occurs and seek medical advice if needed.
- Consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) provided with each delivery.
