Instructions for Use

1. Check the post top is sound, level and free of loose debris. Treat any fresh cut end-grain with a suitable preservative.
2. Position the cap centrally on the post top. Ensure edges are aligned with the post faces.
3. Fix in place where required using stainless/galvanised exterior screws through pre-drilled pilot holes, or a compatible exterior adhesive. Do not overtighten.
4. Wipe clean and, if over-painting, lightly key the surface and follow the paint manufacturer’s guidance.

Limitations & Precautions

• Fit only to sound, stable posts. Replace severely split or decayed timber before capping.
• Use corrosion-resistant fixings suitable for external use.
• If over-painting, abrade lightly and ensure coatings are compatible with an epoxy finish.
